Court for man who tried to flout alcohol ban
Mon, 22 Aug 2016
A Douglas man who asked staff not to "grass him up" after he was caught trying to buy alcohol will be sentenced in September.
35-year-old David Anderson appeared at Douglas Courthouse last week where he pleaded guilty to attempting to breach his licensing order.
On May 29th he went into the Co-op in Duke Street and attempted to purchase a bottle of red wine.
When staff recognised him as being the subject of a licensing ban they refused to serve him and reported him to the police.
The court was told Anderson had a nine month licensing ban imposed in February this year - he was bailed until his sentencing hearing on September 20th.
