Fire station sale expected to generate one million pounds

Selling two fire stations in the south of the Island could generate more than £1 million pounds.
That's according to the Department of Home Affairs which this week started on building a new emergency services hub at Ronaldsway.
Castletown and Port Erin Fire Stations are being sold - the latter is moving into the building currently occupied by the Southern Ambulance Service; this in turn will move to the new look site.
It's a project that will cost £1.45 million although this is due to be offset by the sale of the sites which will be released for redevelopment.
Minister Juan Watterson says the 'collaborative' approach represents good value for money:
