'Blanket ban' on psychoactive substances to come into force

Introducing a new 'blanket ban' on psychoactive substances will stop the Isle of Man being used as a 'back door' by criminals.
That's the message from the Treasury which has made a legal order banning the import, export and production of the substances as well as possession of them with intent to supply.
The substances - including former so called 'legal highs' - are subject to a blanket prohibition in the United Kingdom.
The new order prohibits any substance banned under that act from being imported into, and exported from, the Island.
Minister Eddie Teare says it allows us to be proactive rather than reactive:
