Plans to change the look of Manx currency could be rolled out next year.
It follows a changeover of the company responsible for producing circulating and commemorative coins.
Tower Mint has been handed a new 10-year contract and will take over from the previous supplier Pobjoy Mint which had been producing the coins for more than 40 years.
Treasury says it's impressed with the quality of samples and Tower Mint's 'marketing capability'.
It also says it's interested in a rolling five year plan for the sale and distribution of commemorative coin issues on a global basis - the contract takes effect from April 2017.
