DEC calls for an increase in pre-school credits

Tynwald approval is being sought to provide more money for pre-school credits.
Currently carers are entitled to between £800 and £1,500 - the money is given out on a means tested basis.
The Department of Education and Children wants to increase the standard amount to £1,700 a year and for those receiving government support increase it to £2,150.
The last credit increase was in 2014 - it's hoped if this is approved it will be in place for the start of the new academic year.
