A plane passenger sparked a lifeboat call out yesterday after spotting a dinghy they thought was in trouble.
Douglas Lifeboat was launched at 10.48pm after the passenger reported seeing two people waving at the plane as it approached Douglas.
Crew searched the area in the vicinity of the aircraft's flight path - in conjunction with Belfast Coastguard and Air Traffic Control - for two hours.
Nothing was found - and there were no reports of missing people - so they were stood down.
