Statistics show serious crashes are on the rise

Fatal road traffic collisions on the Isle of Man have dropped but the number of serious crashes is on the rise.
Statistics released by police this week show there were 919 crashes between April 2015 and March 2016.
Six of those resulted in a fatality - 52 crashes caused serious injury; that's up by nine from the previous year.
Work will now be carried out to compile a new road safety strategy - Inspector Derek Flint says a serious crash can have serious consequences:
