Legal high legislation needs 'significantly' updating

Drug crime on the Isle of Man has risen by 30 per cent in the last year.

There were 257 drug related offences compared to 198 in the previous 12 months - police say the majority were for low level possession rather than supply.

End of year statistics released by the Isle of Man Constabulary show crime overall dropped by 14 per cent - it's now at a level last seen in 1970.

Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson says he thinks it's time to relook at drug legislation - particularly for legal highs:
