Police are trying to find the man responsible for a 'nasty, unprovoked attack' which left a Castletown woman 'terrified' in her own home.
At around 10pm on Friday the woman was alone with her children in the Close Rushen estate when someone knocked at her door.
She opened it and a man on the doorstep then punched her in the face causing extensive bruising - she was knocked backwards and suffered more injury to her back.
Officers say the incident - which was the only one reported - is 'out of character' for the town and the Isle of Man; anyone who can help is asked to contact Castletown Police Station.
