Sidecar racer died from head and neck injuries
Wed, 15 Jun 2016
An Australian sidecar racer who died on the first race day of TT 2016 suffered head and neck injuries.
The inquest into the death of 27-year-old Dwight Beare, who lived in Onchan, was opened at Douglas Courthouse yesterday.
He died at the scene after a crash at the 16th Milestone on June 4th - the court was told he suffered severe blunt trauma.
Countless tributes have been paid to the carpenter since his death - on Saturday, after the second Sidecar Race, fellow racer Patrick Farrance dedicated his third podium position to his friend.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham released the racer's body to his family so funeral arrangements can take place and adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.
