Infrastructure Minister 'slammed' for treatment of horse trams

The Infrastructure Minister has been slammed by a local society which wants to protect the horse trams.

The Manx Electric Railway Society has issued a critical release regarding its opinions on the 'self-styled champion of the horse tramway' - Phil Gawne.

It's again questioning the planning application to tear up the tramway from the war memorial to the Sea Terminal - a track which it says would go from 'nowhere to nowhere'.

Society members claim the DoI is ignoring the fact it'll be disposing of 'a priceless asset which exists nowhere else in the world' and say Mr Gawne is obsessed with carrying out the agenda.

The society says it's sent an email detailing the problems and potential solutions to Mr Gawne but has not heard back from him or any other politicians.
