The inquest into the death of a popular motorbike racer who died during a TT practice session will be opened today.
50-year-old Paul Shoesmith was killed during a solo session on Saturday, June 4th after crashing on the Sulby Straight.

As well as competing himself he also gave a number of other riders the opportunity to race on the mountain circuit through his Ice Valley racing team.
On Senior Race Day Paul's family were awarded the PokerStars 'Spirit of the TT award' on his behalf - the award recognises the person, or persons, who best represent the ethos of the races.
