Nationwide axes 70 Island jobs
Mon, 06 Jun 2016
70 jobs will be cut at Nationwide International after a decision was taken to shut the Isle of Man office.
The Nationwide Building Society says "regrettably" it's no longer sustainable for it to continue operating.
The decision has been blamed on demand from customers, volume of current business and on-going running costs.
It says it will work closely with all employees ahead of the 2017 shutdown to find them alternative employment externally or another position within Nationwide if desired.
Customers will be written to in order to notify them of the decision and outline how it will affect their accounts.
