Dementia patients to benefit from new discreet initiative

Fri, 03 Jun 2016

People with memory problems are being offered additional supports through a new 'Butterfly Scheme'.

It's been introduced at Noble's Hospital and is designed to offer extra help and care to patients and their families.

A discreet butterfly is put next to a patient's name on their medical notes - this indicates to staff that they might require things explaining more or might have a memory issue.

The scheme, which has been launched in partnership with the Alzheimer's Society, works on an opt-in basis.
