Fire crews spent almost six hours tackling a gorse fire in Laxey yesterday.
Three pumps were called out to Agneash just before 3.30pm to reports of a large fire that was spreading quickly.
Firefighters worked to stop it damaging a nearby property and fields but were hampered in their efforts by the wind and access to the area which meant there were limited water supplies.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says the fire was caused by the wind reigniting an area of controlled burning from two days earlier - adding it spread rapidly due to the current dry spell.
