Efforts underway to stop children taking up smoking

Cigarettes and tobacco products are to be hidden in Manx shops as part of efforts to stop children taking up smoking:
 
Research suggests that tobacco displays 'normalise' smoking to children. 
 
From July 1st it will be illegal for retailers to openly display the products except in limited circumstances like restocking or serving the items. 
 
The new rule applies to all businesses selling tobacco products to the public including shops, pubs and clubs.
 
The products will have to be hidden from view behind curtains or sliding doors - retailers will be allowed to display one poster with the prices on.
