Repair efforts underway after 'desecration' of war memorial

Parents have been urged to explain the significance of Island war memorials to their children after a tribute to people killed in the First World War was vandalised.
Youths targeted the 'Cross of Crosses' in Mooragh Park in Ramsey over Easter - it was installed in 2014 to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the war.
Lawrie Hooper is the chairman of Ramsey Town Commissioners - he says work is underway to get the memorial restored.
Anyone who made a personal dedication on one of the crosses has been asked to contact the Ramsey branch of the Royal British Legion in order to renew it:
