It appears that Sunday morning proved to be too cold and wet for many club members as just seven arrived for the Isle of Man Shooting Club’s May Handicap. Under the instructions of Range Officer Brian Fozard, three matches were contested, The May Handicap, The IoM Rifle Associations Sinclair Cup teams of two and the first round of five of The Junior 50 metre Grand Prix, got underway on time and due to the cold, did not require the full fifty minutes duration. Winner of the Handicap event for the second month in succession, was teenager Matthew Roosen, who produced a score 4 points ahead of another youngster, Rhys Keown.

Roosen takes his third Handicap match in succession
Round two of The Empire Garage Tynwald Shield went to Matthew Roosen who actually bettered his 60 shot score he had produced the previous morning. His personal best score mentioned above, proved to give a 6 point advantage once his handicap had been added with a total of 609. Derek Kermode, the only shooter to record a full house, claimed second position on 603 and Mike Duncalf posted a 598 giving him third.
