A talented young writer has been invited to the House of Lords after his success in a national poetry competition.
Josh Carridge, who is a year six pupil at Onchan School, wrote a poem about the First World War as a part of his 'narrative poetry' lessons.
His teacher entered it into what she thought was a local competition only to find out weeks later that Josh was a runner up - and had been competing against 1400 other students from across the UK.
Josh has travelled to London this weekend with his mum and teacher Hayley Prescott to attend the prize giving:
