Extra support in place for health and social care staff
Fri, 06 May 2016
Additional support for the Island's health and social care staff will drive up quality.
That's according to the Department of Health and Social Care - initiatives such as mentoring, codes of conduct and care certificates are being launched to offer more help to healthcare assistants and care support workers.
They make up a third of the workforce and spend more time at patients' bed sides.
Minister Howard Quayle says the new schemes are designed to ensure they're supported through training to gain a greater appreciation of the role they have to play in raising the standard of care.
