New same sex marriage legislation for the Isle of Man could be held up by the upcoming European Union referendum.
That's according to the Chief Minister who says it's now a "race against time" to get Royal Assent.
Last week the Marriage and Civil Partnership Bill was passed following its third reading - it has to go back to the House of Keys for one amendment before being sent to the UK.
Allan Bell says he's hopeful the tight deadline can be met because he thinks it will be "extremely well received" by the gay community:
