Inquiry launched after Health and Social Care allegations

An independent inquiry is being launched into allegations of falsification of files and the 'oppressive treatment' of vulnerable families.

Onchan MHK Peter Karran sparked the move in Tynwald this week - it follows alleged serious misconduct in the Department of Health and Social Care.

The Minister says the department is innocent until proven guilty.

Mr Karran's motion was carried as long as he provides evidence of the cases to the Independent Safeguarding Chairman - however his approach was criticised by Members:
