Taxpayers' money is protected when it's awarded as part of Economic Development schemes.
That's the message from the Minister after concerns were raised as to whether any grants had been made in error or due to fraud.
In the last three years the department says there haven't been any cases of "misrepresentation".
The matter was raised in the House of Keys this week by MHKs who wanted to know whether there were procedures in place to recover money which is allocated in mistake.
Laurence Skelly says there's always an "element of risk" in providing financial support but he's confident things are being done properly:
