Drink driver caught out twice in three months
Sat, 19 Mar 2016
A Douglas man will be sentenced in April after being caught drink driving twice in three months.
36-year-old Stanko Sokolov was stopped on Barrack Street on December 6th last year after struggling to park his car.
He failed a roadside breath test and was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters where he failed to provide another sample - it was also found he had no insurance for his vehicle.
On February 21st police were called to Victoria Road in Douglas by a witness who'd seen Sokolov drinking at a party before getting in his vehicle and driving off.
He was located at around 3.30am smelling heavily of intoxicants but denied driving; officers then located his vehicle, with the tyres still warm, and he failed a subsequent roadside breath test.
Appearing at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week Sokolov confirmed he was pleading guilty to all offences - social enquiry reports have been requested before he's sentenced on April 19th.
