Residents need protecting from utility hikes says MHK

It's time government stepped in to save residents from crippling utility prices.

That's according to Douglas West MHK Chris Thomas - he's asking the Chairman of the Office of Fair Trading to clarify differences between here and the UK.

In the House of Keys today he'll also ask for details on how price premiums for gas compare to electricity, LPG, heating oil, solid fuel and wood.

Mr Thomas says the cost of living here is driving people off-Island and says we need to 'plug the hole':
