LegCo to gain more responsibility for Equality Bill

Responsibility for equality has turned on its head as the Legislative Council looks to review measures before they are seen by elected MHKs.

That's the view of Douglas West MHK Chris Thomas - he says it's high time the function of LegCo evolved into an evidence-gathering committee to improve efficiency. 

It's being suggested there's too much red tape in processing amendments and creating new legislation.
