Discussions are continuing between government and the developer which wants to bring Port Soderick "back to life".
It's believed the Department of Economic Development is in talks with Heritage Great Britain over the "potential redevelopment" of the site - although it isn't releasing details.
The Liverpool based company says it acquired the site in summer last year and has engaged a local architect and consultants to "identify opportunities" for the area.
It says it's also taken steps to improve the security at the hamlet, which used to be home to a pleasure ground, and rectified structural defects.
Heritage Great Britain, which also runs attractions on the Isle of Wight and at Lands End and John O'Groats, says it hopes to outline potential schemes later this year.
