Controversial same-sex marriage changes thrown out

'Abhorrent' plans to change parts of the new same-sex marriage legislation have been thrown out of the House of Keys.

North Douglas MHK John Houghton's bid to amend the Education Act failed today.

He'd wanted to allow teachers to opt-out of teaching the subject and to let parents remove their children from classes.
