Maybe it is something to do with the weather, but after a period of the odd 100 here and there in the league matches, this week 4 x 100’s were recorded in three matches, however the exception to the rule above has been Junior shooter Ashley Gardner, who posted his third 100 in four weeks on Monday evening, an outstanding achievement for anyone but even more so for a junior – terrific shooting Ashley – keep it up.
Port St Mary welcomed their near neighbours Castletown on Monday and once again the outstanding ‘Port team claimed all three Divisions in fine fashion. Leading for the home team was as mentioned, Ashley Gardner on a 100 with Eddie Maddrell a point in arrears, Ashley Gardner (Snr) tried hard on 98, to match his son and 97’s went to Derek Kermode and another junior, Callum Grant. Castletown posted an excellent result of 483 which on many occasions would be a winning score and was led by Richie Arthur and Robin McFee on 99 with Shirley Caley on 96, ‘Doc’ John Brewis on 95 and Lauren Cooper on 94.

Laxey take all the points at home
Kirk Michael were the visiting side at the Glen Gardens range on Monday evening and with just three adults and three juniors making up their team, tried valiantly to make a match of it but unfortunately failed comprehensively to a strong Laxey side. I understand at least 3 of the visiting team were bed bound with flu. For the home team, John Wood led the way on 100 followed by Gemma Kermode on 98, Harry Creevy a point in arrears on 97 followed closely by Judy Kee and Garry Kneale both on 96. Tom Lord headed the visiting side on 99 with son David on 97, junior, Illiam Christian on 96, Tommy Ardis 92 and Mathew Wernham on 90.

Two 100’s at Sinclair
The two clubs based at St Johns had their match on Monday evening and IoMSC Douglas proved a little too strong for a rather weak IoMSC Sandsiders. Tracey Skelton and Nick Brown led the way for the Douglas side on 100 with Andy Potter just a point behind on 99. Dave Humphrey and Mike Clague made up the Division 1 team, both on 98 recording a terrific team score of 495 x 500, the highest score in the league this season so far. For Sandsiders, Andy Traynor continues to produce excellent results and this week claimed top slot on 98 with junior Matthew Roosen and Steve Callus both posting 97, Bill Jones on 95 and Tony Kneale completed the team with a 93.
