Diversifying the economy is 'key' according to the Treasury Minister following his Budget speech yesterday.

The financial plan for 2016/17 was approved last night with plans to aid development and the eGaming sector.

Eddie Teare has announced an initial investment for one year of £10 million into the Enterprise Development Fund - this is to help small businesses and open up jobs for young people.

He says work is also underway to increase the number of skilled IT professionals on the Island - this will hopefully be achieved by relaxing work permits in the sector and by working with the IT centre at the Nunnery.
