IoMSC Sandsiders welcomed Port St Mary, the Island’s strongest rifle squad, on Wednesday evening and once again the Southerners showed their supremacy. The visiting Division 1 team was entirely made up of juniors an extraordinary result and led by teenager, Ashley Gardner who managed another 100, his second in successive matches. Callum Grant posted a 98 with George Dalton-Brown, Ryan Forrest and Isaac Heaton all recording 97’s making up the Division 1 team, the ‘Port also claiming wins in Divisions 2 and 3. As can be seen from the results above, some of the Islands Rifle Clubs, (specifically in the locations of Laxey, IoMSC Sandsiders (St Johns) and Kirk Michael), are finding it almost impossible to field two five man teams never mind three so, if there are any potential shooters or those who were previously involved and may be interested returning to this intriguing sport, we would be delighted to welcome new shooters. I am sure all kit can be provided. Help and guidance would be offered to new individuals and it may be worthwhile mentioning that we have a thirteen year old and many over the age of seventy - so age is not a barrier – give it a try, you never know, you may enjoy it !
