A war veteran has been granted Honorary Freedom of the Borough of Douglas.
97-year-old Hector Duff was yesterday awarded the "greatest honour" that Douglas Council can bestow.
He has a long and distinguished military career - which began at the age of 19 - and later spent 30 years with the Isle of Man Constabulary.
The council says Mr Duff - who is actively involved in recognising the people who died in the two world wars - is the "perfect recipient" for the honour as he's an "inspiration to us all".
