Travellers from the Isle of Man are being encouraged to take specialist advice before going abroad.
The warning comes after the World Health Organisation deemed the outbreak of the Zika virus a "global emergency".
Health protection nurse Jacqui Dunn says despite this it isn't likely to bother people living here.
However she says people who are planning a holiday need to take precautions in advance by going for a travel health consultation with their GP or pharmacy:
