Harbour staff won't police Island ports

Harbour attendants won't be tasked with policing the Sea Terminal or Ronaldsway Airport.

That's according to the Department of Infrastructure which says it has no plans to extend their remit.

Minister Phil Gawne says attendants look after marine security keeping the port safe and oversee commercial ferry operations.

However, Onchan MHK Peter Karran believes they could be doing more at a time when government budgets are stretched:
