An Onchan man has been slapped with a £400 fine after accidently leaving his cannabis in a friend's car.
26-year-old Wesley Jenkins was caught out when the friend crashed on Glen Falcon Road in Douglas on November 15th last year.
The driver "panicked" when he realised the rucksack which Jenkins had left contained the drug and tried to throw it into Glen Falcon Gardens before police arrived on the scene.
However he was spotted and was forced to come clean about who it belonged to - Jenkins was subsequently charged.
At Douglas Courthouse yesterday he pleaded guilty to possession of the Class B substance- the drug had a street value of just under £50.
His advocate said he was "embarrassed and ashamed" to appear in court saying Jenkins realised "it's time to give it up".
