Restorative justice programmes on the Isle of Man will be rolled out more widely - giving criminals the chance to recognise the impact of their offending.
That's according to the new head of community rehabilitation Geraldine Martin - the system can provide a constructive way for offenders and their victims to meet and potentially make amends.
Geraldine says it's a key way of ensuring those people who've suffered distress have a voice - saying they often feel ignored in the criminal justice system:
