Police in Merseyside have confirmed a man from the Isle of Man has died after falling ill at a Liverpool nightclub.
The 47-year-old has been named locally as Andy Glaister, owner of a local haulage company and well known in Motor Sport.
He was taken to hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning but died last night - his next of kin have been informed and it's believed a post-mortem is due to take place.
Rally Motor Sport Journalist Chris Boyde paid tribute saying that "Andy was great fun to be around and the whole Sport was shocked to hear of his death. He was a competitor and dedicated organiser who went out of his way to help fellow competotors. The tributes on social media are testament to the kind of person Andy was. You couldn't have met a nicer bloke. All our thoughts are with his wife and family".
Police are also investigating the death of a 19-year-old man from Crosby in Liverpool who died after attending the same event.
