The Sayle Gallery has welcomed the "breathing space" a new cash injection has provided saying the decision to cut its funding was "too hasty".
Last week the Arts Council agreed to hand over £19,000 from The Lottery Trust to pay the rent for six months and to part fund an artist in residence.
The gallery, located in the Villa Marina Colonnade is seen as being in part of the Island's "cultural hub" - chairman Damian Ciappelli says it's not as simple as finding somewhere cheaper.
He says the gallery is part of the National Arts Strategy and as a result it's important all parties come together to reassess the situation:
