Robbery suspect arrested after raid on newsagent

Police have arrested a local man in connection with a robbery at a Douglas newsagent.

They say they've also recovered items which they believe were stolen from Newby's on Glen Falcon Road on November 3rd.

A man, dressed in dark clothing with his face obscured, entered the shop at 10.05pm and proceeded to steal the cash box before threatening the lone female cashier - he was caught on CCTV.

Police say they take all incidents like this seriously and are reminding people home and business security is "of paramount importance" especially at this time of year.
