Steam Packet services cancelled due to gale force winds

Disruption to Steam Packet services is set to continue into the weekend.

Today's sailings have been cancelled between Douglas and Heysham until the 7:45pm sailing departing Douglas tonight.

The master will decide whether or not the Ben-my-Chree is able to travel by 5pm.

It's due to gale force - or gale eight - winds today - being increased to severe gale force nine this evening and overnight.

Gusts reaching 80 mph in some exposed spots are expected to last until Sunday morning.
