Police on the Isle of Man say they will continue to work hard to bring rapists to justice - regardless of their age.
This week a 16-year-old boy was handed a three year custodial sentence after admitting raping a 14-year-old schoolgirl on wasteland in Douglas.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was told by a Deemster he'd committed a "grave offence" and had taken "full advantage" of the "paralytic" teen.
Detective constable Sam Cannell says the incident in June will continue to have a profound effect on the victim.
He says officers will always take this type of offence seriously saying victims are never to blame:
