This left Fencbiles leading 5-4 at the half way stage. The mixed started with a win at first for Fencibles when Weir and Masson beat Leigh and Carrol 21/15 21/10.  Then it was a Rushen win for Wang and Whitehead at third mixed 21/17 21/19 against Avery and Robertson.  Rushen also won at second mixed when Edwards and Kerr beat Gawne and Buss 21/12 21/9.  Victory at first mixed went to Fencibles Barnes and Cannell against Broadbent and Munro 21/18 21/16 and with it overall victory by the odd game.

A very narrow win for Selborne  women in a closely fought match. St Ninians were keeping it in the family, as Karen and Sophie Wade started with 21/19 21/18 win over Gill Young and Angela Guest. However, Laura and Kate Cowley then lost 17/21 15/21 to Selborne's Anita Griffiths and Jane Casey. Young and Casey shared games 17/21 21/19 with Karen Wade and Kate Cowley and likewise Griffiths and Guest 21/20 15/21 with Laura Cowley and Sophie Wade, before good wins for Guest and Casey 21/16 21/10 over Sophie Wade and Kate Cowley put Selborne ahead. St Ninians Laura Cowley and Karen Wade almost turned it around winning 21/15 21/15 against Griffiths/Young who did just enough for Selborne to win overall. RMcM
