A Douglas man who drove a friend to collect £25,000 of cannabis from a Liverpool drug courier has been ordered to carry out community service.
26-year-old Sam Atkin was one of three men caught by undercover police during a raid on May 28th - he later pleaded guilty to being compliant in the supply of a controlled drug and possession of cannabis.
Atkin had driven 26-year-old David Jenkinson into Douglas where he picked up a suitcase containing the drug before returning to his home address where the latter distributed it, storing some in Atkin's loft.
On leaving the house both men were arrested - Jenkinson and 33-year-old Mark Richards, who brought the drug to the Island, have since been jailed.
Atkin was sentenced to 240 hours of unpaid work which must be carried out in the next year - passing sentence Deemster Montgomerie told him "I hope you think it was worth it".
