"It was like a horror movie" - that's how a Derbyshire man has described a crash which claimed the life of a retained firefighter last year.
At Douglas Courthouse yesterday James Ricketts sobbed as he told a jury he still has nightmares where he sees 43-year-old Neil Walker's bike "flying through the air".
The Ramsey man died when his Kawasaki collided with a VW Golf, being driven by Mr Ricketts' on the Laxey to Ramsey Coast Road on August 6th.
The Matlock man told jurors he was on a day out with his children when he missed a turning - he stopped and made the decision to turn in the road saying he could see clearly it was empty.
It was the children who raised the alarm that Mr Walker's bike was approaching shouting "bike" - Mr Ricketts told the court "I just saw it coming, I can still see it now - there was nothing I could do".
The 51-year-old denies causing death by careless driving - the trial continues.
