Money will not be ring-fenced for individual areas of policing on the Isle of Man.
That's according to the Treasury Minister Eddie Teare who says he, and other politicians, have no influence on how the constabulary spends its budget.
Onchan MHK Peter Karran raised concerns in the House of Keys this week arguing certain areas, including the Financial Crime Unit, need specific funds.
He also queried whether the new winter crime prevention campaign was as a result of funding cuts - which was something Mr Teare was quick to dispute:
