Robbery CCTV released in bid to catch offender

CCTV footage has been released showing the moment a robber made off with cash from a Douglas newsagent.

Police are hoping someone will be able to identify the man who targeted Newby's on Glen Falcon Road last Tuesday.

He's seen entering the shop at around 10.05pm - he's dressed in dark clothing with his hood up and face obscured.

The man goes behind the counter and takes the money drop box - police say he then threatened the female cashier before lighting a small firework and throwing it in her direction.

Anyone who recognises the offender has been asked to contact Police Headquarters.
