Over half of incapacity claimants found capable of working

More than 50 per cent of incapacity benefit claimants on the Island who've been assessed are capable of working.

391 assessments were carried out between February and September, of these 200 people have been deemed capable of work.

They are being conducted by Dependability Limited - in Tynwald this month South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft said she was concerned about the assessors' training.

However Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says he's pleased with the external company's performance saying it's important the work continues:
