Plans for an international TT series have been shelved despite government spending £250,000 on the idea.
The Department of Economic Development says it won't be progressing the proposal because it's too "high risk".
Concerns had been raised that a series event could dilute the focus on the Isle of Man event which could in turn harm the TT and the economy.
The department says the best way forward is to focus on "home events" but hasn't ruled out reconsidering the idea in "a few years".
