Efforts are underway to plug a staff shortage in the police force by recruiting officers from off-Island.
The Isle of Man Constabulary is trying to get established police constables from the UK to transfer here.
Chief Constable Gary Roberts described a recent on-Island recruitment process as a "failed exercise" after just two of the seven new recruits made the grade.
Sergeant Paul Kemp has responsibility for staff development - he believes it wouldn't be much of a transition.
