We need to get tighter on border control if we want to beat the criminals.
That's the message from our Chief Constable who says the Island is currently a soft target because it's possible to come and go at will, unchallenged.
Gary Roberts says the Isle of Man, unlike other places, hasn't examined the issue "in any constructive way" leading to drug dealers, burglars and those involved in financial crime targeting the Island.
He's now asked government to look seriously at introducing passport checks for those travelling by sea:
